A JHVinylShop Original Project
Feral Chicken began as an idea about what happens when something that has always lived inside the enclosure suddenly realizes that the enclosure is not the whole world.
The chicken goes feral. It leaves the coop.
Underneath that deliberately strange premise is a larger story about self-observation, independent thought, free will, transformation, and the willingness to question familiar surroundings.
The album moves through curiosity, rebellion, disorientation, reintegration, and release. Across nine tracks, the story shifts between spoken word, rhythm, humor, symbolism, and experimental production.
How Feral Chicken Was Created
Jason Hathaway created the album concept, wrote the lyrics, developed the track sequence, and directed the creative vision. SUNO v5 Pro was used as the performance and production engine.
The result is an unusual JHVinylShop project: human-written and human-directed creative work developed through an AI-assisted music-production process and released as an actual commercial music project across the worldwide digital music ecosystem.
